In Denouncing the Donald: My Reasons NOT to Vote for Trump, I outlined my reasons why I refuse to vote for Donald Trump. This list, which numbered 26 reasons, was inspired from this blog series written by this libertarian blogger Dan from Squirrel Hill titled “[The] well sourced examples of Obama’s lying, lawbreaking, corruption, cronyism, hypocrisy, waste, etc.”. The blog series is fairly self-explanatory, which is why I will call it the “Anti-Obama List” for short. This blog series has, as of July 22, 2016, a grand total of 1,249 entries, and Dan has been working on this list since August 15, 2013. However, my main issue is that he focuses on the scandals that occurred since Obama took office, and he wrote this after Obama was 7 months into his second term.
I, however, will focus mainly on the statements and actions Trump has made on this campaign. That way, we can stop Trump from getting a first term, much less a second. I will write this blog series on a bimonthly basis, largely to look for statements that Trump has made.
Without further ado, Donald Trump:
.) Stated in his nomination acceptance speech that homicide in America’s 50 largest cities had risen over the last 25 years, when in reality that they had actually declined.
.) Misinterpreted or fabricated significant statistics in his nomination address.
.) “Sarcastically” asked Russia to look for Hillary Clinton’s missing e-mails after the Democratic National Convention’s e-mail leaks.
.) Called for a raise in the minimum wage by the federal government, even though he had previously stated that was an issue better left to the states.
.) Claims to oppose immigrant labor, unless if they work for him at lower rates than Americans.
.) Has had a history of retweeting tweets from white supremacist accounts on Twitter.
.) Has called Senator Elizabeth Warren ‘Pocahontas’, which prompted a chief of the Cherokee Nation to protest against Trump.
.) Has been considered a “danger to innovation” by many in the technology industry.
.) Has stated that he will defend the Baltic states against a potential Russian attack if “they fulfill their obligations to us”.
.) Has been compared to Russian President Vladimir Putin by prominent Russian dissident Garry Kasparov.
.) Named his business successes when accused by the family of Humayun Khan, a fallen Muslim American soldier, that he never made any sacrifices.
.) Accused the mother of said Muslim American soldier of being silent because of her faith when she was actually in emotional pain.
.) Has been accused of being a “liar”, a “xenophobe”, a “misogynist”, a “bully”, among other words, by one of his former attorneys.
.) Rejected a crying baby at one of his rallies.
.) Stated that he had no regrets about his gaffe about the Khan family.
.) Hired a spokeswoman who blamed the death of Humayun Khan on Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, even though Khan died in 2004 – well before Obama was even a Senator, much less Commander-in-chief.
.) Has demonstrated a dangerous ignorance of the role of nuclear weapons in international relations.
.) Denied having ever met Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite ample evidence to suggest otherwise.
.) Claimed that Native American casinos were influenced by gangs in 1993.
.) Said that he had “always wanted” a Purple Heart despite not serving in the military after receiving one as a gift from one of his supporters.
And that is it for now. I do plan to add more to this list in the future, given Trump’s rather infamous tendency to make offensive comments. I hope such future comments do end up costing him the election.
God Bless America,
