If Trump Gets Impeached, Does His Entire Presidency Go With Him?

My Fellow Americans,

It’s me, the Centrist Voice. I apologize for the delay, as I have been quite busy. One thing I have been doing was watching and listening the news. I have heard plenty of calls for one good thing among Democrats and even some Republicans. Some of you might be thinking: What could be so positive that both Republicans and Democrats can love?

That, ladies and gentlemen, would be the impeachment of Donald John Trump.

Ever since the election of Trump, I have heard calls from Democrats and even “Never Trump” Republicans to be impeached. The main reason is because of constant allegations that members of his campaign staff and cabinet, such as Michael Flynn and Jeff Sessions, have dealt with officials of the Russian government before the election. This has led many people to believe that Trump himself has had some dealings – business or otherwise – with Russia. Personally, I have always been opposed to Trump ever since he announced his candidacy for President of the United States back in 2015. Indeed, these allegations have been so upsetting that the American people deserve answers immediately. But there is another question to be considered.

If impeachment of Trump does succeed in removing him from office, what happens to all of his appointments, executive orders, and Cabinet? In addition, would his family still receive Secret Service protection?

For the first questions, I would say his executive orders would be binding unless a future President overrides them. In addition, Trump’s successor can choose to retain some or even none of Trump’s Cabinet. Furthermore, Neil Gorsuch has already been confirmed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Lastly, Trump’s family would still be eligible for Secret Service protection even if he were to leave office by impeachment. I know that this is a bitter pill to swallow, but that is how things are.

Based on this evidence, I would say that our best hope for the next 2-4 years is to wait for the 2018 midterms and then the 2020 presidential election. We shall see what happens then.

God Bless America,

The Centrist Voice
